John C. Snedeker
John C. Snedeker is Founder, Chairman & CEO of Synergistic Dynamics, Inc. (“SDI”), a professional services firm that has been serving clients in the maritime, aerospace and defense industries since 1983.
John attended the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and Cornell University where he received a degree in mechanical engineering and a commission in the U.S. Naval Reserve.
He has extensive experience in finance, program management, economic research and corporate governance. Under John’s leadership
SDI has compiled a record of success in assisting clients obtain financial guarantees under the Maritime Administration’s Title XI Maritime Loan Guarantee program.
Employed by units of the Grumman Corporation (now Northrop Grumman)before founding SDI, John has accumulated over 35 years of government contracting experience, covering the entire contractual spectrum from pre-proposal planning through final close-out. He has appeared as an expert witness in Federal courts in matters related to shipbuilding and ship repair contracts.
Professional affiliations include the American Society of Naval Engineers, Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, American Bar Association (Associate, Section of Public Contract Law), National Contract Management Association, Society of Energy Engineers, Connecticut Maritime Association, Propeller Club-Port of Savannah, Shipbuilders’ Council of America and the Maritime Administration’s Short Sea Shipping Cooperative Program (SCOOP). John is a member of the SCOOP sub-committee on Legislation and Finance.
John served on the Technical Advisory Board of the Chatham County (GA) Inter-modal Freight Study. He is the founder and Chairman of the Chatham County (GA) Port Planning Committee, a non-profit business league that supports development of the Port of Savannah. He is a former President of the Savannah Council of the Navy League of the United States, served as the Navy League’s Georgia State President, and is nowa National Director Emeritus and a member of the Navy League’s Merchant Marine Affairs Committee.
