Tim Walton

Bilingual Professional in the fields of International Business Development and Marine Transportation.

Beginning in Venezuela in 1986, Tim worked for H.L. Boulton, the largest steamship and stevedoring agency managing a new marine consolidation department. He was then promoted to director for a customs brokerage joint venture between a local firm and world class forwarder Kuehne & Nagel. Tim managed the port agency in that country for Nedlloyd Lines, then as general manager of the first Sea Land Services Agency in the Venezuela.

Hired by Crowley Maritime, Tim became manager of the USVI, domiciled in St.Thomas, USVI, responsible for the sales and marketing of this liner service for both the USVI and the BVI. Tim relocated to Miami as Director of Sales and was responsible for the ABC (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and Colombia Service). He travelled to each of those destinations to work with the agencies to retain current accounts and develop new business in the Netherland Antilles and Colombia. Tim led the sales training (in Spanish), of the new agent in Colombia. He was subsequently promoted to Director of Sales, Bahamas, and successfully developed initial business for this new market for the firm.

Tim then joined NPR (Navieras de Puerto Rico) and helped to develop new agency and feeder agreements in the Caribbean. In short time, he was promoted to manage sales and operational team in seven states with a $50M budget. After NPR, Aqua Gulf (the top NVOCC in the Puerto Rico trade) recruited Tim to help with international and domestic sales.

As Vice President of Frontier Liner Service, Tim successfully implemented management change, analysis of liner operations, sales training, and motivation of team in US, DR and Colombia.

Tim is founder of Walton Consulting, LLC which provides consulting services to domestic and international clients. This consulting firm is involved in projects ranging from due diligence of the purchase of a Chinese new build tanker, to the in depth study prior to the proposed $120M investment in a Greenfield port infrastructure project in the USA.

Passionate about helping both firms and individuals to excel, Tim is involved in several not-for-profit projects in Broward County.
